East Texas's wintry blanket may have cooled our plans, but it ignited an impromptu exploration into the resilience of the human spirit and mysteries of faith. Life's unexpected detours often lead to profound discoveries, much like the story we've been eager to share from Cassie and Jeff, a remarkable couple from my church. Their battle with COVID-19, particularly Cassie's severe illness and inspiring recovery, alongside Jeff's unwavering support, is a testament to the strength found in community and conviction. Their anticipated narrative has been momentarily delayed, yet it serves as a reminder that personal stories—like theirs—are the essence of our conversations here.

Shifting focus, we examine the enigmatic "mark of the beast," a subject that stirs as much curiosity as caution. The Book of Revelation offers rich imagery, inviting listeners to reflect on the interplay between appearances and hidden truths, especially in the context of those who wield influence. As we navigate these scriptures, their implications ripple through our modern lives, provoking thought on commerce, authority, and faith. This episode isn't just a discussion; it's a journey through time-honored text that challenges believers and non-believers alike, with the promise of revisiting Cassie and Jeff's powerful account in a future conversation.

Faith and Failure's podcast.

Speaker 2:

What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Faith and Failure's podcast. So I came across this video and this well before I go any further. Actually, if you would be so bold to hit that subscribe button. If you're watching on Facebook, make sure you go follow Faith and Failure's on Instagram, on the Facebook page. So go check out our YouTube channel. We pretty much post everything on all of these platforms, but probably the most organized and not random post that's just strictly videos and podcast episodes, is the YouTube channel. So that is completely free. Go subscribe, make sure you like, give a thumbs up to the videos you enjoy.

Speaker 2:

But in the video analytics from YouTube that they give me, where I can go and look, crazy enough, a majority of my subscribers and a majority of the people that watch this channel are actually in Canada. Okay, I had no clue. So for those of you in Canada, buenos dias, thank you for joining us. I don't know what they speak up there. That being said, if you've been paying attention, so we all know right now you could see the TV, you could see that. I have it where it's a lot of oh yeah, it's a good exposure out there. Can you even tell? No, all you can see is the white fence or the fence. So outside here in Longview, texas, or here in East Texas and surrounding areas, we are covered in snow. We woke up to snow this morning. Pretty cool little thing.

Speaker 2:

My kid is out of school today for Martin Luther King Jr Day, and then they called today and said that they will be out tomorrow. So if you're out there driving, so a woman's going to come and tell her story, and actually her husband. So in this moment in time, her husband, she got sick with COVID and she's going to share her story. I'm not going to give her story away. I want her to be able to have that opportunity. But she survived COVID. She was intubated with all the things that they could have done to her. They had to do to help her survive. And so they're a local family that actually attend my church. They're actually her and her husband are over the outreach ministry at my church. So they're going to come. They were going to come today but due to the weather, the roads are icy. I saw a photo of there's a main road in town called McCann and there are roads all over or vehicles all over on the side of the road. Just the conditions apparently were terrible, and the temperature is stayed above or below freezing. Any extra rain or snow is going to cause extra layers of chaos, so that is why you're just getting me today.

Speaker 2:

It was scheduled to be an interview style scenario, which I love to do. Actually, when I started this podcast I think in 2018 or 2019, like that was like the main thing that I would do, and I almost interviewed two, three, four, sometimes five times a week, and I love doing that. So that's kind of the style I like, so I'm trying to get back into that in this year. That being said, if you have a story and I have the capabilities like a zoom call to where you wouldn't have to be able to come here and sit down with me the only requirements are you have some sort of decent quality audio and a camera. Honestly, phones can do pretty good these days if you can get it connected that way, but it's a simple thing like a zoom call and then we go. I want you to be able to tell your story.

Speaker 2:

This whole podcast that I started was designed to be able to give other people voices. I know here within the last year. So YouTube has analytics where, on the back end I can see everything. And how do we getcentric narrative TV to get paid? Plus, we also have LinkedIn. Yeah, we're in 2024. 2022. On my YouTube channel for this podcast, there were 16 subscribers and we just passed over 1,600 subscribers on YouTube alone. That's not including every other platform that people watch and listen in on. So that's an awesome thing that God is doing.

Speaker 2:

So please subscribe. Please hit that like button. If you wanna subscribe, you can. On the link below on PayPal, you can hit that. You can give a monthly of $5 a month, or if you wanna give a one-time amount, you can do that as well.

Speaker 2:

The citizen ministry is just another way to help further the gospel. So, without further ado, it may be cold on the outside and probably most of y'all are off for work too, which is pretty cool. Gotta worked out good where you don't have to get out there, and we just so happened when did our grocery shopping last week? So, oh, I didn't tell you the scheduling. So next Monday at 5 pm instead of today, next Monday at 5 pm of that lady, cassie and Jeff, they're gonna come on and they're gonna share their story and he's actually, for the first time, gonna tell she's given her testimony a couple of times in church, I think probably once every year since it happened, maybe more. We should not just be whining in church about things that haven't happened. We should be praising God for things that do amen. So she is gonna give her side of the story, give her testimony and all that and kind of what she's been dealing with since.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if you've heard of long COVID you probably have. Most of us have probably had somebody in our lives that had been affected in some way. So she's had to deal with a lot of things that are a little embarrassing to her. That she's gonna share. But then, too, we're also gonna hear her husband's side of it, like what was he thinking? All the things they had to go through that him and his father-in-law, her dad, had to make decisions, even though and she messes with them all the time but she's here, even though she did not wanna be resuscitated they made the call and so it's an amazing story. So make sure you mark your calendars. There is an event right now on Facebook and then you also can go to the YouTube channel and see that I have it scheduled for next Monday, so a week from today at 5 pm. They're gonna be on, so make sure you tune in. So there's a couple of things I know you've probably heard of Joe Rogan.

Speaker 2:

Okay, now, if you've watched or listened to, joe Rogan is one of those people that is in the podcast space to where he can say and do anything and not be canceled. Now I don't know if you understand this or not, but that's a pretty big feat for someone to be able to do that and, no matter what the backlash, they're still good to go. That's a very, very hard mountain to climb, but that is where his success has led him. But he's talking with somebody on an interview and he is. If you listen to Joe Rogan, you can see an evolutionary, like spiritual thing to where he used to say if you believed in God, you're stupid, you're dumb, you just want something to to blame or or to cop out, and you don't. You don't actually have Any real proof or answers. And now he's having Christians and this is so cool like it.

Speaker 2:

We're watching in real time Joe Rogan transform Into someone who is actually curious and then reading and understanding who Jesus is in real time and having people come on and talk To him about God in front of his listeners. So not only is he leaning towards Understanding who God is and some of you are like, well he's, he still talks like this, he does this. But how many people inside of church Come to church and they have no pursuit of who God is and they just say they're good and they're a Christian because they go to a Church? I would rather have somebody like Joe Rogan that doesn't understand or really know, but they are searching, like authentically Searching, and want to know who God actually is. Then someone who comes and sits on a pew, maybe pays their ties, they lift their hands in worship and they have no clue who God is. That was a pretty bold statement, right? We need to give grace and mercy to those who are searching, because the Bible says seek and you will find. You go knocking on those doors. Those doors will be open because we have a God who is Gracious and good in mercy.

Speaker 2:

So he got this guy on his channel and he's this guy's pretty cool. I don't remember his name. It didn't have his name on here, but it's somebody else's little Instagram or no. I'm sorry, youtube shorts. So let's watch this together. Make sure it's centered up where y'all can see it pretty good before. We're a cashless society.

Speaker 1:

And the book of revelations. Gonna is a Christian. You're gonna read it. This is where I get scared, because it's too similar to the mark of the beat. It's too similar to exactly what it says you won't be able to trade, you won't be able to do anything Unless you have the mark. Unless you bear the mark, how's?

Speaker 3:

the mark of the beast described in the Bible. We should read it.

Speaker 1:

This is it. We're opening up the book of revelations.

Speaker 3:

I saw another beast rising out of the earth and it two horns. Like a lamb, it spoke like a dragon, these. It deceives those who dwell on earth, so causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell Unless he has the mark. It's calls for wisdom. Let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of A man and his number is 666.

Speaker 2:

How long before now? Think about that. So somebody who doesn't really know who God is? Pardon the language if you are around kids, excuse me, but think about this. Someone who has a massive platform of influence is Reading revelation on his podcast.
